Holy Cow! After almost 5 years, on paper anyway, of unemployment... I have a job!
I woke up this morning at 4:30 am, I wanted to be absolutely ready, got showered, dressed and out the door for 6:50 am, caught the bus then the train and in less than an hour....I was there! Guess I misjudged the time allotment there... GLAD I DID!
I beat the owner in there and he interviewed me on the spot.
Remember in one of my previous posts where I said "I miss the days where one man would sit down and look another man in the eyes and ask," "when can you start?" Well that is exactly what he did! No hocus pocus! No long pointless questionnaires, no nonsense, just a job!
My answer to his question was "tomorrow" his reply was "ok see you tomorrow at 2 pm then".
I am now working for the company that keeps up the appearance on the 16th street mall.
From what I understand we work in crews and are responsible for one third of the mall area and all we have to do is keep trash and whatever out of the streets and sidewalks... for $10 an hour! Plus a raise after 30 days!
I am so happy I beat that guy to work today!
